Jalapeño Cheddar Chicken Burger
It’s burger week at the Wagner house!
We love burgers. All kinds. And this week I decided to make a different burger every night. We will hold a very official voting at the end of the week to rank the weeks events. Dorks? I mean, obviously.
While I may not post all the burgers, I will share the winner at the end of the week. If you’d like to try our burger week menu, it will be posted Sunday with the grocery list and recipes to have your own {enter name here}’s burger week!
Last night was the second contender of the week: jalapeño cheddar chicken burger. (First up was: feta and pear chicken burger. yuma!)
While not all of the burgers will be chicken, the first two were…and were awesome. Here’s the full recipe for last nights burgers:
Jalapeño Cheddar Chicken Burger
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 1/2 cup yellow onion, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup cilantro, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped
- 2 tsp jalapeno pepper, diced
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 cup shredded low-fat cheddar cheese
- 1/4 tsp each salt and pepper
Instructions
- Prepare grill to medium heat.
- Add chicken to a medium bowl. Add onion, cilantro, garlic, jalapeño, cumin, paprika and cheddar cheese. Mix well and create four-six patties (depending on size preference). Sprinkle sides with salt and pepper.
- Grill for about 7-8 minutes per side. Check internal temp is 165. Serve with toppings as desired.
