Easy BBQ Chicken Legs
Easy BBQ Chicken Legs
Okay, okay. It’s all my fault for posting a super enticing picture on Facebook and Instagram of the dinner I made our LifeGroup last night….and then not telling you how to do it. How….rude.
So here it is. My redemption post including recipe. Once you see how easy this was you’ll forgive me for making you wait a day. Won’t you??
I used chicken drumsticks mostly because I am biased to them. The husband felt the same…so all drumsticks for us. You could do the same with wings, breast, legs or all of the above. It’s a great meal to make for a large group!
For low-sugar barbecue sauce I always look for whatever I can get with the lowest amount of sugar. Bonus on this meal- you don’t need any extra sauce, so you’ll only get what you’ve basted on the chicken. This recipe I used an Aldi Brand, which is great for price too!

- 1/2 cup barbecue sauce lowest sugar available
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
Instructions
- Preheat broiler and line a rimmed cookie sheet with foil.
- Season drumsticks with salt and pepper and place on cookie sheet.
- Broil 4 inches from heat for about 10 minutes per side.
- Baste the chicken with bbq sauce and broil 5 more minutes. Transfer to a serving platter, allow to cool off slightly. Remove skin before consuming, Baste again lightly with sauce if desired.
I can’t tell Steph, is the bbq sauce 6 or 8grams of sugar per 2 tbsp?
This one has 6 grams! It’s like a game…look for the lowest you can go! :)
This looks delicious. I promptly went to the fridge to check my favorite sauce. Author Bryant’s (which is also corn syrup free) only has 1g of sugar. Yay! Making this soon! Thank you, Steph!
Woooowoooo!!!! Let me know when you try it!
Is the skin left on the drumsticks?
I leave them on for cooking and take them off for eating!
I’ve been looking for a great recipe that’s easy because I get off late I tried this one and my family loves it thank u so much for sharing
?????? If you take the skin off the chicken and don’t eat it, why baste with sauce? Isn’t the flavor left on the skin?
@Jill it locks in moisture and flavor. You can also put it under the skin :)
