Bariatric Product Review: Oregon Chai Tea Latte
Bariatric Product Review Oregon Chai
Name of Product: Oregon Chai – Sugar Free Chai Tea Latte Concentrate
Where it was purchased: Walmart
Cost: $2.98 for 32 ounces
How it might be used:
As a substitute for a high calorie chai tea latte purchased at a coffee shop. 16 ounce Chai Tea Latte at Starbucks costs nearly $5 and has 190 calories if you use almond milk, 210 calories if you use skim milk.
This concentrate was so yummy to me prepared both iced or hot and mixed with unsweetened almond milk. I poured 6-8 ounces of unsweet almond milk over ice, added the same amount of the concentrate and stirred for an afternoon iced chai tea latte. I also heated almond milk on my stove top and added the concentrate, poured into a mug and sprinkled with nutmeg (pictured above). I would buy this again!
This concentrate has 0 calories, 0 fat, 0 protein and 1 carbohydrate (I know, isn’t it weird that it can have no calories but have 1 carb? That’s because they count sweeteners).
Note* This product is sweetened with Splenda® which is a personal choice to use or not use. In my house, I traditionally use natural sweeteners such as Stevia® or Swerve® but some pre-made items like this use sucralose (Splenda®) as the second to last ingredient.
Ingredients: Water, Organic Black Tea, Organic Vanilla Extract, Organic Spice Extracts, Sucralose and Citric Acid

Thank you Steph! Seemed like a good substitute to me, but had been wondering if I was missing something.
