My Favorite Pins From Last Week
Gosh I love Pinterest. If you’ve spent much time on Pinterest…I’m guessing you feel the same way!
While there are some quirks about it that make me laugh (when my screen is filled with both desserts AND super ripped bodies telling me how to get stronger thighs)…it really is a great social media platform for tips and tools to all the areas of of life.
I pin some things that might make me more stylish. I pin cleaning tips I’d never thought of. I pin home projects that I’m sure my husband just can’t wait to get started on :)
By far my favorite thing to pin are recipes I can re-create to make bariatric friendly. Some are already bariatric friendly and need no tweaking. Here’s is a list of the things I pinned this past week to make bariatric friendly. I’d love to hear if you’ve made any of them or what you plan to make! Follow me on Pinterest and I would love to follow you too!
**These are not pins I have created yet, but the pins I am most excited about. Notes include what tweaks I would make to create a bariatric friendly version. If you do create any of these, let us know! AND show some love to the original creator of the recipe by commenting on their recipe post!
Recipe: 5 Minute Healthy Peach Frozen Yogurt

Original Site: Just A Taste
Variations: For this recipe, I would use a plain Greek yogurt to increase the protein content, which prevents blood sugar from spiking. I would also use a sweetener instead of agave or honey. Only those simple changes would make this bariatric approved!
Recipe: 100 Calorie Crustless Veggie Quiche

Original Site: Sally’s Baking Addiction
Variation: This recipe is essentially bariatric friendly to begin with. Though the changes I would make is skipping the skim milk and using 6 eggs instead of 3 egg whites and 3 eggs with yolk. It wouldn’t change things too much and would make it even more suitable for the bariatric diet.
Recipe: Skinny Watermelon Mojito

Original Site: Peanut Butter & Peppers
Variations: This drink sounds delicious and refreshing for the summertime! The only variation I would make is Minute Maid® 15 Calorie Lemonade instead of club soda to eliminate the carbonation for postop patients. Drink responsibly! :)
